The T-18 light tank, also known as the MS-1, is the Russian acronym for Maliy Soprovozhdeniya-Perviy, which means "the first small combat vehicle". It was the first self-designed tank in the Soviet Union. Production ended from 1928 to 1931. It was based on the Renault FT-17 and used vertical coil spring suspension.

The T-18 and its derivatives were not inherently successful designs, but they allowed the Soviet Union to gain initial experience with tank design and have since absorbed some foreign tank designs.
