A 1/8 scale plastic model kit of "Maschinenmensch" (*1) by X PLUS.
From the German silent film "Metropolis" (in which the message "The Mediator Between the Head and the Hands Must Be the Heart" is encompassed as its eternal theme), produced by Fritz Lang and released in 1927, comes a faithfully recreated figure of "Maria", a machine-human originally designed and created by Walter Schulze-Mittendorff.
Invented by the scientist Rotwang, Maria is a gynoid (*2) with features reminiscent of his former lover Hel and appears in the film as a leader of the people (both Hel and Maria were played by the German actress Brigitte Helm).
It is sculpted in its most iconic pose with a great respect for the film.
The base part of the product features a chair that appears as an important item in the story for you to recreate the key visual of the iconic scene (the back of the chair has a secret engraving).
This Maschinenmensch is possibly one of the first and most iconic robots ever depicted in a movie.
The first ever UNESCO Memory of the World entry as a film, it had a profound impact on other films, television, and robotics in the years that followed.
We now proudly present the great creation of Rotwang.
