The Frankish Culverin is introduced to China in Ming Dynasty by the Portuguese. It’s an early model of cannon with back-loading sabots. Compared to other models, the loading method of Frankish Culverin saves the time on reloading and barrel-cleaning. The rapid-fire Culverin is also called oerlikon cannon and is based on 15th century’s Falconetto, which is named after falcon.
