"Kelvin" are cat people, they live beneath the ocean, breathe air created by magic and live on fishes. 

One day, the rats and their machines invaded the city of Kelvin, the cat people were enslaved and died out one by one...but a prince and his wife got away.

Following some ancient lore, they found the remains of an ancient beast and turned it into an armor, the prince put on the armor and freed his people. 

The prince later buried the armor in the North Sea and sealed it with ancient magic, only the pure of heart can unseal it.
