The F-16 Fighting Falcon was produced by General Dynamics who became Lockheed who then
merged with Martin Marietta to become Lockheed Martin. The F-16 entered service in January
1979 as a multi-role jet fighter that evolved into an all-weather multi-role aircraft capable of
sustaining 9-g turns. The F-16 is relatively inexpensive to purchase and maintain so the U.S. and
25 other countries added it to their inventory. The Fighting Falcon is referred to by its pilots as
the β€œViper” and will remain in USAF service until 2025.

The RoCAF F-16A 6707 had a serial of 93-0808 and a c/n of TA-107/120. Before delivery to
Taiwan this aircraft was used in a 3 year project with the 21st FS at Luke AFB in Arizona to teach
advanced fighter tactics to some RoCAF pilots. November 1, 1999; back in Taiwan the RoCAF
14th TFS was commissioned to train the remaining RoCAF pilots. In 2003 the 14th was upgraded
to TFG and on November 1, 2004 with its mandate completed it was decommissioned.
