Speculation Suggests Black Myth Wukong Might Receive 2 DLCs in the Future
Published 4 Sep 2024
A known leaker has revealed that Black Myth: Wukong is set to receive two pieces of DLC, alongside a potential codename for the game's sequel. Released on August 20 for PS5 and PC, the action RPG developed by Chinese studio Game Science quickly became a massive success, selling over 10 million copies in its first three days.

According to the leaker, Game Science is planning to release these two DLCs before launching the next installment in the series, rumored to be codenamed Black Myth: Jiang Ziya. This sequel might draw inspiration from the classical Chinese novel Investiture of the Gods, focusing on Jiang Ziya, a significant figure in Chinese mythology, similar to how Black Myth: Wukong was inspired by Journey to the West.

The leaker also mentioned that the game was initially planned to have 13 chapters instead of the final six, raising speculation that the upcoming DLCs could be based on some of the scrapped content. Meanwhile, Game Science continues to work on the Xbox version of the game, which was delayed indefinitely, possibly due to a temporary exclusivity deal with Sony.
